With the game still scoreless in the 25th minute, the Bears would be whistled for a foul about 30 yards from their goal and there was no doubt who would strike the free kick, as Domenech stepped up to the ball.
With Friday Harbor trailing 6-0 after three quarters of play, senior Bill Revercomb broke through the Red Raiders defensive front and galloped 25 yards into the end zone to tie the score with eight minutes remaining in the non-league contest, Thursday, Nov. 6, in Friday Harbor.
With the victory, the Wolverines (13-4) punched their ticket to the Division 2B state tournament and collected their ninth consecutive victory, thanks in large part to three timely saves by goalkeeper Hayden Mayer.
The victory clinches a spot in the state 2B tournament quarterfinals for the Wolverines, the program's first appearance at state since 2005. They will play two more district playoff games in the next week to decide state seeding, starting with a showdown Wednesday, Nov.5, against undefeated Mount Vernon Christian (17-0).
