State champs; playoff-bound FH soccer teams earn top academic honors

The 14 members of the Friday Harbor’s boys soccer team had a collective 3.38 GPA and the 13-member girls soccer team together averaged 3.74 for the fall quarter. The boys open post-season play Saturday, Nov. 1; the girls face the runner-up of the Sea-Tac League in a "win-to-survive" playoff match, Nov. 5.

Issanjou nets penalty kick, lifts Wolverines over Grace Academy; 3-2 | Boys soccer

Arno Issanjou scored his team-leading 13th and 14th goals of the season, including opening the scoring just before halftime, and later converting a penalty kick in the dying minutes of the game to give the Wolverines the win.

With the victory, the Wolverines (9-3) avenged a hard-fought early season loss on the Loggers home court and secured the No. 2 seed for the upcoming Northwest 2B Division playoffs, Oct. 30, at Mount Vernon Christian.

Hoop season is here; coaches needed for boys recreational league

The 2014 season begins Oct. 27 and runs through Dec. 14. The Island Rec program focuses on building skills on the court and friendly competition for players and teams in three age categories: 3/4th grade, 5/6th grade and 7/8th grade.

Wolverines bounce back from back-to-back losses, trounce Cedar Park | Volleyball

The Wolverines gave up a combined five points in the first two games, and, substituting liberally in the third game of the best-of-five match, tallied a 25-14 win to seal a runaway win over Cedar Park Christian.
