Hoop season is here; coaches needed for boys recreational league

The 2014 season begins Oct. 27 and runs through Dec. 14. The Island Rec program focuses on building skills on the court and friendly competition for players and teams in three age categories: 3/4th grade, 5/6th grade and 7/8th grade.

Hoop season is here, and Island Rec is looking for a few b-ball savvy volunteers to help coach in this year’s boys recreational league.

The 2014 season begins Oct. 27 and runs through Dec. 14. The Island Rec program focuses on building skills on the court and friendly competition for players and teams in three age categories: 3/4th grade, 5/6th grade and 7/8th grade.

Teams practice twice a week during the 8-week season and games are Sundays, beginning Nov. 4, in Friday Harbor High School’s Turnbull Gym.

Island Rec will host a coaches meetings Oct. 21 and Oct. 22; date depends on age group.
