Dinged by dumpster, art heist in Eastsound, scuffle prompts woman’s arrest; San Juan County Sheriff’s Log

Sept. 30: A 36-year-old Lopez woman was arrested for assault after a physical altercation with a man at a Lopez gas station.

Sept. 25: A parking problem at the Hunter Bay dock on Lopez Island resulted in deputies looking at abandoned vehicles in a permit parking area.

• A portable Honda generator was reported stolen from a storage unit in Eastsound.

Sept. 26: Orcas deputies arrested a 33-year-old Eastsound man for malicious mischief after a domestic disturbance in Eastsound.

• A 60-year-old Eastsound man was given a trespass notice, warning him to stay away from a certain property or face arrest.

• A neighbor dispute over loud music brought deputies to an Eastsound home when a confrontation occurred. A woman was warned about trespass issues.

• A Lopez resident reported theft of fill dirt from the edge of the property.

• A Lopez school employee reported that a dumpster on school property collided with her parked car, causing damage to the car.

• Two vehicles parked at the football game in Friday Harbor were damaged in acts of vandalism.

Sept. 27: Lopez deputies were called on a child custody dispute. The children were located safe.

• A parked vehicle was damaged in a minor hit-and-run collision during the night in Friday Harbor.

• A 70-year-old man was injured in a motorcycle crash on Sperry Road on Lopez Island. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries. No citation was issued.

Sept. 29: An Eastsound business reported the shoplifting of an art piece valued at $350.

• An Eastsound resident reported the repeated removal of a “For Sale” sign from his property.

Sept. 30: An Eastsound couple reported that a subject had violated the provisions of an order of protection. A 49-year-old Eastsound man was subsequently arrested for that violation.

• A 36-year-old Lopez woman was arrested for assault after a physical altercation with a man at a Lopez gas station.
