Do You Have Waste Tires? The County wants to know

Submitted by San Juan County’s Department of Environmental Stewardship.

Do you have old tires you’d like to dispose of? Let the County know! San Juan County’s Solid Waste Program is assessing the waste tire disposal needs of local citizens in an effort to provide better solutions into the future.

“Large amounts of waste tires present pollution and fire risk hazards and it is important to remove them from the environment,” said Katie Fleming, Solid Waste Coordinator in San Juan County’s Department of Environmental Stewardship.

The department is considering a waste tire amnesty collection event for private citizens. This event would help pay for disposal costs.

Please contact Katie Fleming at katief@sanjuanco.com or 360-762-5821 with the number of waste tires you would bring to an amnesty event and your location by June 15.
