SJI Library adds new database Creativebug

The San Juan Island Library is pleased to announce the latest addition to the suite of databases freely available to library patrons: Creativebug. Creativebug is a database of online art and craft classes. From Creativebug, you will enjoy unlimited access to thousands of online classes, including projects in drawing, painting, sewing, quilting, knitting, paper, crocheting, food, jewelry and more. As their website says:

“Watch our classes anytime, anywhere. Since our classes never expire, you can start and stop projects at your own pace. No pressure, just possibilities!”

Ebooks and e-audio that you can stream straight from your phone or computer, available from the Washington Anytime Library (also available through Libby).

Newspapers and current events, including the Journal of the San Juan Islands, The Seattle Times, USA Today and many more, all available through NewsBank. Also, get complimentary access to the New York Times.

Online classes for professional development, including leadership skills, test prep and software training from LinkedIn Learning and Learning Express Library.

Language learning resources for more than 100 languages, including English language learning, through Pronunciator and Muzzy.

Genealogy through Ancestry and HeritageQuest, as well as local historic documents through the San Juan Island Heritage Collection.

Research and learning resources through Gale Databases and World Book Encyclopedia Online.

Book recommendations based on specific interests through Novelist Plus.

Authoritative and up-to-date service and repair information for thousands of vehicles from Auto Repair Source.

All of these are available from the webpage listed above. Library staff are available to answer your questions about these databases and any related questions you might have. In addition to its collections of materials to loan, the library also provides public access to computers and WiFi. Library hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
