Coach Shannon Benefit Fund

Submitted by Marie DiCristina

Many in Friday Harbor know Coach Shannon Plummer. Shannon is a giant of a man and not a quiet soul – he has a big voice and an even bigger heart.

His wife Toni Obrad fell in January and broke her leg and wrist. Shannon stopped working to be her caregiver. On March 22 he had knee replacement. Now both are recovering and not working.

Shannon has coached High School Football for 29 years and Track for 7 years. He has assisted in multiple fundraisers as in the Terry Ogle Benefit. Shannon is also a proud Veteran of the United States Army. Toni is known for her 28 years teaching at the Elementary School with Special Education. She has a GoFundMe listed as “Toni Aid Recovery Fund,” at https://www.gofundme.com/f/toni-aid-recovery-fund.

These two have always been a part of island life and fundraising efforts and now it’s time for the community to assist them. Please make a donation to the Coach Plummer Benefit Fund at Banner Bank in Friday Harbor. Drop by the bank or mail a check to PO Box 909, Friday Harbor, WA 98250.

Whatever you can share is greatly appreciated, Islanders helping Islanders…it’s what we do here!
