Wistful reminder of wit that was | Letters

Last week’s letter to the editor, “Flummoxed by furor over felines,”(July 30, pg. 6) reminded me of why I miss the former “Sheriff’s Log”—it provided us a chance to appreciate Scott Rasmussen’s wit and sense of humor.

We enjoyed the lead ins of, “A cracked taillight lens and a familiar face led to the arrest of….”; or the report of a man bit by a dog at the Love Dog Cafe; the female shoplifters referred to as “the sisterhood of the disappearing pants”; and our all-time favorite, the break in where the invader, “ransacked the refrigerator, pillaged the pantry and sacked the spice drawer.” Thanks, Scott.
