Rick Hughes. The people’s person, steadfast advocate, balanced, the right choice.

A lot has been shared about the great qualities Rick holds. That’s because he has done a lot of great things as a representative of our community.

But I’m not here to talk about all that. You see, I’ve known Rick since he moved here. I worked with his dad, Richard on his water needs, and with his Uncle Vic in his days with DBWUA. Rick has good ‘jeans’ — both in denim and inherited. He comes from a line of honest, hardworking men — and gained a pair of willful women to back him up with checks and balances. Marlace and Ingrid. Two forces to be reckoned with. If you know, you know.

The decision to lead the community doesn’t come without the support of your family. Born a man of strength and perseverance, he’s rooted with the backing of these two supportive, influential (and incredibly persuasive) women. Rick has a natural tendency to do the right thing, and these two drive it home. To that end, if Rick does anything wrong, he’ll feel it from both of ‘em.

In closing, I urge you to get out and vote. If you don’t, I’ll send Ingrid and Marlace after you.
