The San Juan Island Prevention Coalition would like to publicly thank the San Juan Island Community Foundation for its continued support of our island youth.

Members of our Rock Solid Youth Prevention Team were able to attend a national leadership training, Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America, this summer with the SJICF support. Rock Solid members have been working in our schools and community doing prevention projects to help create a healthier community since 2011.

Our youth-led, adult-guided model gives the teens a chance to be the change agent. These young leaders have successfully rallied their peers in supporting their Escape the Vape project at their school. In addition to mentoring the younger middle school prevention team, HOTS Jr. Investing in these teen leaders helps build capacity in our community.

We are grateful for the vision of the San Juan Island Community Foundation to empower youth. Offering them leadership training at the state and national levels to enhance their skill set and treating them as respected and contributing community members, as they are. The San Juan Island Prevention Coalition values our prevention partners. The San Juan Island Community Foundation is a stellar example of working together for the greater good.
