Help Kiwanis provide Christmas gifts | Letters

For more than 20 years your local Kiwanis Club has been very involved in this community on many levels.

At this time of year, we offer our version of Toys for Tots. A Santa Hotline is set up courtesy of Century Link. Our local newspaper helps promote this hotline. We collect unwrapped gifts in boxes located throughout the downtown core.

This year, as you must be aware, the needs are extreme. Once again we are asking you to dig deep and contribute any amount you can to help us make sure as many children as possible have something to make their Christmas a little more normal. We take these monies and purchase from our local community as much as possible, the requests made on the Santa Hotline.

These gifts include among other things, clothes, books, diapers many essentials in addition to a modest “toy.” All of these monies go to the gifts for the children and nothing else. We do not receive any of the donations for future use, nor do we use donations for any administrative expenses incurred with the project. Last year, well over 100 local children received gifts.

Please give what you can today — $25, $50, $100, or more. No amount is too small.

Thank you in advance for your continued support of our community.

Seasons Greetings,

Victoria Thalacker
