Grab the skin just in front of the knuckle of your middle finger and pull it gently upward.
This is the exact skin area which our son accidentally pierced with a nail using a nail gun at the current Homes for Islanders neighborhood. My husband immediately took our son to PIMC (Peace Island Medical Center).
It was obvious that the nail did not hit a bone nor muscle, nor tendon nor ligament.
Two hours later, they had removed the nail and our son was left with a bill for ER of $603, for emergency room of $670, for X-rays and drugs and pharmacy and vaccine, all totaling $1,774. Outrageous.
