Ranker to field questions at Democracy Corner

Washington state Senator Kevin Ranker, D-Orcas, will be in Friday Harbor to field questions from islanders today, Oct. 16, beginning at 4 p.m., at Democracy Corner, next to the Garden Path Cafe on Spring Street.
Ranker appearance at Democracy Corner is part of a 2012 Election Q & A series, sponsored and hosted by the San Juan County Democratic Party.
A first-term incumbent seeking reelection to the 40th legislative district, Ranker is chairman of the state Senate Energy, Natural Resources and Marine Waters Committee. He is also a member of the Senate Transportation Committee.
Ranker’s challenger in the race for the 40th district senatorial seat is John Swapp, R-Anacortes.
