Learn to be a master composter/recycler — for free

The San Juan County Solid Waste Division and WSU Extension are joining forces to offer a series of free training workshops for Master Composters/Recyclers.

Participants will learn the ins and outs of composting, vermi-composting, soil building and recycling over the course of the four-week program, which includes a field to Mount Vernon. The program is offered to any county resident.

Those who complete the training will be expected to provide 20 hours of advice and to answer questions from the public at future events and workshops.

Class schedule: Thursdays, 9 a.m. to noon; May 16, May 23, May 30, and the Mount Vernon field trip, June 6.
