Town treasurer earns 22nd consecutive state finance award

Friday Harbor Treasurer Wendy Picinich has been honored for the 22nd consecutive year with the state of Washington’s “Professional Finance Officer Award”. The award recognizes individuals for their ongoing education, service and professional excellence in the arena of public finance.

Evidently, Friday Harbor Treasurer Wendy Picinich knows a thing or two about finance.

Picinich has been honored for the 22nd consecutive year with the state of Washington’s “Professional Finance Officer Award”, an award handed out by the Washington Finance Officers Association.

The award recognizes individuals for their ongoing education, service and professional excellence in the arena of public finance.

“This is a great opportunity to applaud Treasurer Picinich for her dedication to the Town and her dedication to the highest levels of professionalism and ethics,” Mayor Carrie Lacher said. “We all rely on Wendy’s expertise to help ensure the financial health of our Town. As mayor, I join the WFOA in acknowledging and thanking Wendy for her continued commitment to her position as the Town’s Treasurer.”

The Washington Finance Officers Association is a professional association of finance officers from towns, cities, counties, the state and other governmental agencies in Washington state.
