Big John Vejvoda, a retired police officer and a long-time member of the San Juan Lions Club who was a fixture at its fund-raising events, has passed away.

“Big John Vejvoda passed away last night. He was at home with his wife, Shirley,” Minnie Knych reported in an e-mail this morning. “Our condolences to his wife, Shirley; daughters, Nancy and Susie; and his son, John.
