The League of Women Voters of the San Juans, a non-partisan, non-profit organization, is sponsoring a Voter Forum at the Grange Hall at 5:30 PM on Thursday, Oct. 12. The Forum is designed to help voters to get to know the candidates for contested seats to be considered in the November general election. The San Juan County Elections Office will be mailing primary ballots to registered voters on Oct. 17.
The Voter Forum is a moderated event during which candidates will present introductory statements and respond to your questions, within time limits. Candidates expected to attend and respond to your questions are: Richard Geffen and Noel Monin (Town Council), and Jerry Henderson and Warren Appleton (Fire Commissioner). The League of Women Voters requires civil discourse in forums, and all questions to candidates must meet that requirement.
