Fall Dessert ‘Friendzy’, book sales, and more; National Friends of Libraries Week

Activities in store for National Friends of the Libraries Week, Oct. 19-25, include deep discount book sales, dessert fundraiser and Friends of the LIbrary membership drive (sign up for a chance to win a Kindle or Amazon Prime subscription).

The San Juan Island Friends of the Library kick- off the 2015 membership drive the week of Oct. 19-25.

Events planned are part of the annual National Friends of Libraries Week.

A Friends membership table will display information about the many ways a Friends’ membership benefits the library. All membership applications received through Dec. 26 will be a part of a free drawing for a kindle, electronic adapter, and a year-long Amazon Prime subscription. Memberships cost $10 per person or $25 per family.

Activities include a 25-cent book sale Sun. Oct 19, during normal library hours, and a 50 percent off sale at the library’s Treasure Cove, Oct. 25.

The Fall Dessert Friendzy is Oct 24, 7 p.m. Admission is $10 and includes live music, children activities, and prizes for the Top 3 desserts. Bring your favorite dessert for a chance to win.
