Brickworks to host ‘Community Conversation’ on Death with Dignity law, today, 1 p.m.

Dr. Tom Preston, medical director for Compassion & Choices and key architect and advisor for Washington state's Death with Dignity law, will be the featured speaker at a "community conversation" focusing on issues regarding that law.

The presentation begins at 1 p.m., today, Oct.  11, at the Brickworks building, 120 Nichols St., in Friday Harbor.

Also in attendance at the presentation will be attorneys from the American Civil Liberties Union, and Linda McCarthy, CEO of Mt. Baker Planned Parenthood, which provides services to patients in three counties including San Juan.
