AP reports: Koster pulls out of debate, objects to reporter as panelist; says he’ll debate Larsen in separate event

Republican John Koster has pulled out of his televised debate with Democratic Rep. Rick Larsen in Washington’s 2nd Congressional District race, insisting that an Everett Herald reporter chosen to ask questions is biased against him.

The Herald’s editorial pages endorsed Koster.

The debate was scheduled to be aired live on KCTS Channel 9 on Thursday, 7-9 p.m. Koster’s campaign announced Koster will debate Larsen on Friday at a forum hosted by the Greater Marysville Tulalip Chamber of Commerce. The forum is scheduled from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Canoes Cabaret at the Tulalip Resort Casino. TVW will join local filming crews to film and air the forum statewide from Oct. 27 through Nov.2 at noon, 4 p.m., and 7 p.m. daily.
