WaterWorks Gallery features work from Melinda Hannigan’s oil paintings and Kan Hoy’s ceramic sculptures.

Hannigan’s work is inspired by the working side of the maritime world, freighters, tankers and barges. She paints this world as a concept and not the actual vessels. Her paintings evoke the history and symbols of these scenes complete with the rust, scrapes, drips and smears that define each vessel.

Hoy works with water-based clay and finds her inspiration in organic shapes and simplicity.
