Here are some things to know:

Horse events start at 9 a.m. Exhibits and entertainment are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Season-pass ticket prices are $18 for fairgoers 65 and older, $22 for adults, and $10 ages 5 to 16. Children younger than 5 have free entry. A daily pass costs $10 for fairgoers 65 and older, $12 for adults, and $5 for ages 5 to 16. Again, children younger than 5 get in for free.

If you enter something in the fair, you can get into the fair for four days for a single ticket of $15 adults and $5 ages 5-16. Get entry forms and rules from the online premium book.

If you have something you’ve created, grown or nurtured that you’re convinced is blue ribbon material, deliver your entry to the appropriate fair department at the fairgrounds Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Paradise Amusements will once again provide fair games and rides — all the excitement of the midway. Kids Day is Thursday and Friday; children have unlimited rides from noon to 5 p.m. for $20.

Entertainment opens Wednesday with the Trashion Fashion Show and closes Saturday with The Clumsy Lovers, a noted bluegrass/Celtic rock band. Those events and performances bookend a schedule full of locally and regionally known entertainment.

New features: Free presentations on agriculture, environmental stewardship and green living.

The fair guide will be published Wednesday and included in The Journal, The Islands’ Sounder and The Islands’ Weekly. Information related to the fair will be posted this week on SanJuanJournal.com. You can keep up with all of the fair happenings with The Daily Fair, available at the gates and at the Journal/Sounder/Weekly booth in the main exhibit hall.
