Step back in time to World War II on San Juan Island

The talk will focus on what is was like living on the island during World War II and what measures islanders took to protect the home front.

Turn back the clock to an earlier era and experience island life during World War II. San Juan Island Museum of History and Industry is hosting an informative evening talk by Gerry King, Sept. 23, 7 p.m. King is a long-time island resident and descendant of the early settler King Family.

The talk will focus on what is was like living on the island during World War II and what measures islanders took to protect the home front. King will go into detail about rationing, blackouts, observation posts and more.

Attendees are invited to share their own stories and memories.

Suggested donation is $5 and proceeds will benefit the museum.
