Soroptimist holds annual St. Patrick’s fundraiser

Tickets are on sale now for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Extravaganza to be held on Saturday, March 17 at Brickworks. A no-host bar and auction preview opens at 5 p.m., with entertainment by “Soroptimister” and Mayor of Friday Harbor, Farhad Ghatan. Dinner begins at 6 p.m. Catered by Mr. Believeables, the menu is an option of corn beef and cabbage or vegan Irish stew. It will be followed by a dessert and a live auction. This popular event is the largest annual fundraiser for Soroptimist International of Friday Harbor, raising money to support local programs including the cancer treatment transportation fund, women’s emergency fund, education grants and scholarships. Tickets are available for $40 from any Soroptimist and at Spa d’ Bune and The Toy Box during business hours. They will be sold at Friday Harbor Market Place on select dates, including March 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Golden Envelope Surprise will also be available at Market Place for $20. Each envelope contains a certificate valued from $25 to $100. Raffle items, including 100 gallons of propane, dental work, window cleaning, and more, will also be sold at $5 a ticket.
