San Juan Islands ferry riders invited to learn about schedule rewrite process

Washington State Ferries will host two virtual public information sessions to discuss the process for updating sailing schedules for the Anacortes/San Juan Islands route. The updates are geared towards improving on-time performance and reliability on the route.

At 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, and 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, the public can join the information sessions on Zoom (Participants will need to register ahead of time). WSF staff will share what goes into updating a ferry schedule. New sailing schedules will begin with the winter 2025 season.

Both public meetings will cover the same material and are designed to give participants the option to join the Zoom meeting that best fits their schedule. Meeting participants will be able to ask questions and provide comments.

In addition to these public meetings, this topic also is being discussed in ongoing sessions with the San Juan Islands Schedule Update Task Force, a group representing various interests from each island served by WSF. The task force meetings also give community members and partners the opportunity provide advice and recommendations on sailing schedule changes.
