There is a local stewardship opportunity as WIld Orca, Orca Network and Whale Scout are seeking volunteers with a passion for educating the public about the Salihs Sea ecosystem with a special focus on our local whale populations.
Volunteer shifts are three hours long.
There is no previous experience required, although Marine Naturalist training is helpful.
There is a free program-specific training on June 10 in Friday Harbor, a training video is available if unable to attend in person.
Sites are at Lime Kiln State Park and the Westside Preserve.
