San Juan grandma releases new album

Gramma Rikki is a real grandmother, composer, musician and studio owner.
She is also the longtime San Juan Island resident Rikki Swin, who is releasing her second album, “The Blind Leading the Blind,” under her stage name.
“I was a studio owner in the 70s and quit music to start another business,” said Swin. “I’m retired now and music is my passion. So back to the 70s again, at 71 … I’m … in the studio business [as] a singer and songwriter again.”
The album is available on iTunes, Amazon Music and Spotify, and Swin said she is inspired by musicians such as John Lennon.
“I write mostly ballads and pop,” she said. “My influences are reflected in my music, and I like to pay homage to my heroes.”
