Don’t let the bug get you this season. With two cases of Type A flu already diagnosed on the islands, it’s safe to say that flu season is underway. Residents are advised to reduce their chances of contracting the flu virus and get their flu shot completed in early fall.

To help island residents protect themselves from this year’s flu, PeaceHealth Peace Island is offering flu shots for $25 beginning Monday, Oct. 1, through Wednesday, Oct. 31. This flat fee is for either the quadrivalent flu vaccine, which protects against four flu viruses, or the high-dose vaccine for those over 65.

To make an appointment for a flu shot, call 360-378-1756. Appointments will continue to be available Monday through Friday, through Jan. 1, 2019. No walk-in service will be offered this year.
