Mount Vernon man lands top prize, $10K, in Salmon Classic

The yearly fishing competition hosted by Roche Harbor Resort drew 99 boats and 338 anglers, Feb. 6-7, who together weighed in a total of 147 fish over the course of the two-day event.

David Reep of Mount Vernon landed a 22.3-pounder to claim the $10,000 first-place prize at the 12th annual Salmon Classic hosted by Roche Harbor Resort.

The yearly fishing competition, Feb. 6-7, drew 99 boats and 338 anglers, who together weighed in a total of 147 fish over the two-day tournament.

Reep’s Classic winner outweighed the second-place fish, reeled in by Eric Reynolds of Snohomish, by a pound. Reynolds pocketed $5,000 in winnings as runner-up of the 2015 Classic
