Meet the new masters… Master Gardeners, that is

A total of 33 islanders, representing Lopez, Shaw and San Juan island, join the ranks of WSU's Master Gardeners by completing eight week of training, with 60 hours of instruction on horticulture for the homefront.

The most recent class to complete WSU Extension’s Master Gardener course is also one of its largest ever.

Thirty-three islanders earned the title of Master Gardener by completing the 8-week training course. Each individual received more than 60 hours of instruction on home horticulture techniques.

The class consisted of interested gardeners from Lopez, Orcas and San Juan islands, and master gardeners are available on all islands to answer question about composting, problem-plant diagnosis and general inquiries about home horticultural.
