Meet Jack – Pet of the Week

Submitted by the Animal Protection Society – Friday Harbor

Hi! I’m Jack, and I go by such nicknames as “Jack Attack,“ and “Jack in Black.“ Soon I’ll have more names to add to this list, but that’s for my current people to now decide. That’s right y’all, I’m happy to report that by the time you’re reading this on social media or in the newspaper, I will already be comfortably settling into my new home & new life with my family!

One day, a day that felt like any other when it started, my family walked through the shelter doors, came in looking for a cat to adopt, and found me! They fell in love with me, filled out their application, and before long got to come pick me up and take me home with them. When all the other cats who I came in with got adopted before me, I started to wonder what was so wrong with me? Why wasn’t anyone choosing me? And then just like that, my family arrived. Now that I’ve found my happy next chapter, I so desperately want all the feline friends I made back at the shelter to feel the happiness that adoption brings too!

As we speak, there are so many amazing animals awaiting adoption here in Friday Harbor, let alone the numbers in need in shelters nationwide! The cats I left behind at APS-FH’s Community Cat space are top-notch, well-rounded, great-looking individuals. I feel lucky to call them my friends, and I guarantee you’d feel the same to have them in your life. Although I never met them, word on the “shelter streets” is that the dogs awaiting adoption on the other side of the building are much the same. What I’m saying is that there is so much incredible potential waiting for you inside your local
