Grisha Krivchenia and Robin Lohrey will share the great works of beloved composers as they present “Keyboard Masterworks” on the San Juan Community Theatre Whittier stage April 2, 7:30 p.m.

Composer and multi-instrumentalist Krivchenia teaches music and philosophy at Spring Street International School. He completed his training at Oberlin Conservatory, where he studied piano with Sedmara Rutstein and composition with Lewis Nielson and Jeffrey Mumford. Several professional ensembles have performed his works, including Arraymusic (Toronto), the Blue Rose Trio (Los Angeles), and the Cleveland Chamber Symphony.

Robin is a junior at Spring Street International School and has studied violin and piano since he was 6. In 2007, Robin lived abroad for a year with his family in southern France studying instruments, improvisation, theory and chamber music at the Conservatoire de Musique in Avignon. He performed in five concerts with the Uzes Orchestra.

Since 2008, Robin has continued classical and jazz piano studies at the Victoria Conservatory of Music with Ana Cal and George Essishos and violin studies with the head of strings, the late Dr. Walter Mony, in addition to Matthew Olsen. He has performed in the Honors Chamber Orchestra at the Conservatory.

All proceeds from the concert will go toward the theater’s “No Fiddlin’ without a Roof” campaign, and will also be matched by a grant from the Confidence Foundation.

Concert tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for student reserved, with $5 student RUSH one hour before the show. The Box Office is open Tuesdays through Fridays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
