Journey of Buck family unfurled

Author of “The Bucks Stopped Here”, Buck II will trace the history of the Buck family from its first days on the island, 1918, to present.

History will get a personal touch as Sam Buck II spins unique tales of the San Juan Island’s past and its many changes over years, Saturday, at San Juan Island Historical Museum.

Author of “The Bucks Stopped Here”, Buck II will trace the history of the Buck family from its first days on the island, 1918, to present, and relay stories of a family whose island roots run deep. The story, and book, begins with Sam’s father, a 16-year elected county attorney, who served two years in the Washington state legislature as well. It spans four generations, and includes the history behind development of Cape San Juan and Brown Island.

The event begins at 6 p.m. Info, 378-3949, www.sjmuseum.org
