The Winter Film Series, sponsored by the folks from Friday Harbor Film Festival, continues every other Tuesday throughout the winter months.

The documentary film “Gasland II” will be screened Jan. 20, 7 p.m., at the Grange Hall.

Environmental activist and filmmaker Josh Fox comes from humble beginnings. When contacted by a company seeking to extract natural gas from his land on the Pennsylvania-New York border, Fox sets out on a journey to uncover the truth behind the methods used to obtain it.

What he finds out about hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,”  puts him on a collision course with its ill-effects on health, the environment, and the nation’s water supply.
