Garden Fever comes to the Mullis Center

In the depths of winter comes the hint of spring. The San Juan Island Garden Club will host its annual Garden Fever Party from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at the Mullis Center. It is open to everyone and there is no admission fee.

The party features local speakers; catalog browsing and sharing; book and tool exchange; speed sessions on gardening ideas; botanical jeopardy; and displays.

Bring your not needed (good condition) garden tools, decorative pots and supplies to pass on to new homes and your current catalogs and garden books you no longer need.

Complimentary morning coffee and tea, plus soup and bread at noon.

Speakers and their topics are:

• 10:30 a.m. – “What’s Hot for 2020,” Julie from Julie’s Nursery.

• 11:30 a.m. – “House Plants – Fashionable Again,” Ziah from Julie’s Nursery.

• 12 p.m. – Raffle (must be present to win).

• 2 p.m. – “Perennial Planting for Year-round Interest,” Jenny Harris of Catkin garden design and consulting.

• 2:45 p.m. – Raffle (must be present to win).
