After sharing insights about overcoming obstacles, such as dyslexia, or about his background in farming, construction, fishing and working in restaurants, people would often say to Sam Buck that he should write a book.

So he did.

On Saturday, Sam Buck will talk about that book, “Believe Your Experience,” at an author event co-sponsored by Griffin Bay Bookstore and San Juan Island Library.

Buck will read from the book and discuss its elements as part of the event, which begins at 7 p.m. at Griffin Bay Bookstore.

Buck’s book contains personal insights based on his own life and suggestions of how people can improve their lives by trusting their own experience. Buck, a third generation islander, says, “I am completely confident that each of us has an important purpose for being here.”
