An annual carnival to fund the local parks and recreation department returns from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17 at the San Juan County Fairgrounds.

The 2018 FANS Island Rec Carnival offers free admission, and game and drink tickets cost $1. There will be a monster truck slide, pirate obstacle course, 20 carnival games, cotton candy, hot dogs and more. FANS stands for Friends and Nieghbors of Support Island Rec.
