Corvette featured at 8th Annual ‘Concours d’Elegance’

The featured model for this year's event is the Chevrolet Corvette, in honor of the car company's recent introduction of the C7.

The Sports Car Club of the San Juan Islands San Juan Island Rotary Club are joining forces to present the 8th Annual Concours d’Elegance, Sunday, Aug. 24, on the grounds of San Juan Vineyards, 3136 Roche Harbor Road (look for the chapel-slash-tasting room—a can’t miss).

This year’s car show features both “judged” and “display only” arenas. However, all the entries, from classics to sports cars, vintage to home-builts, and anything in between, are eligible for any of the three 2014 Concours “People’s Choice” awards. The featured model for this year’s event is the Chevrolet Corvette, in honor of the car company’s recent introduction of the C7.

The event is 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free; a $10 donation is encouraged.

Concours d’Elegance is charitable event; 2014 proceeds will benefit the San Juan Island Family Resource Center, San Historical Museum and Rotary’s PolioPlus Project. The Sports Car Club has raised and distributed more than $37,000 to six different island non-profits over the “con-course” of the last five years.

Back by popular demand, the Argyle Street Jazz Band will perform at lunch,  a perfect coupling for cars, motorcycles food and wine. For more information visit, www.sanjuanconcours.org
