Roche Harbor Resort is hosting a May 6 dinner to help raise fund to repair the clinic of San Juan Bautista in Chile.

The clinic was destroyed by the tsunami that struck Chile in the wake of February’s devastating earthquake and that wiped out hundreds of small towns and fishing villages along the country’s 300-mile long coastline.

San Juan Bautista was among the villages that suffered the most damage.

The dinner gets underway in the resort Pavilion at 6 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Griffin Bay Bookstore for $25, or at the door for $30.

The fundraising event features a traditional Chilean dinner prepared by local Chileans. The menu dinner menu includes salads, empanadas and “pastel de choclo”. Various Friday Harbor chefs will prepare an assortment of desserts that will be auctioned off after the main course.
