San Juan Singers are performing John Rutter’s “Magnificat” for our Dec. 10 and 11 concert this winter.

This multi-movement work is accompanied by a chamber orchestra (strings, woodwinds, horns, keyboard and percussion). The music is lyrical, with lots of interesting contemporary harmony and rhythm. The text is in English and Latin. Rehearsals begin Wednesday, Sept. 14, 7 p.m. at St. David’s Episcopal Church sanctuary. No proof of vaccination required; masking will be mandatory during rehearsals. (Singers masks are available thanks to the San Juan Island Choral Association.)
