Friday Harbor Film Festival’s 2022 Best of the Fest offers a Video-On-Demand audience-choice favorite feature film and short film this coming week on the website, www.fhff.org. Tickets are available online. This week’s feature/short film combination costs only $2.95. Filmmaker Q&As recorded during the 2021 festival are available free.

This week:

Feature: Youth v Gov, followed by Q&A with Christi Cooper. This film is sponsored by Islanders Insurance and is a Things to Consider Feature Film Award winner. Trailer: https://watch.eventive.org/fhff/play/61cdca88eb735400b73a3fb6

A story of global importance that has already inspired numerous legal actions around the world, Youth v Gov is the story of America’s youngest citizens taking on the world’s most powerful government. Twenty-one courageous youth lead a groundbreaking lawsuit against the U.S. government, asserting it has willfully acted over six decades to create our climate crisis, thus endangering their constitutional rights to life, liberty, and property. If these young people are successful, they’ll not only make history, but they’ll also change the future.

Shorts: If You Give a Beach a Bottle, followed by Q&A with Max Romey. This film is sponsored by Tina’s Place and is a Tales from the Heart Short Film Award winner.

Inspired by a picture book, Max Romey heads to a remote beach on Alaska’s coastline in search of marine debris. What he finds is a different story altogether.
