Voting yes for library | Letter

As avid supporters of the Vote Yes for the Library, we’ve been involved in more than a few discussions about the upcoming election and why we should all be excited by the prospect of this much-needed building project.

There are many questions that arise during these conversations, but one seems to surface often. The question is why, since the building will be torn down, the library used the insurance money to repair the broken pipes that occurred during last winter’s freeze. There are two main reasons. The first is that the domestic pipes that run through the main building are still used to irrigate the landscaping so the property doesn’t become an eyesore, and to carry water to the outbuilding for restroom facilities where the Friends of the Library work for hours at a time sorting, storing, and preparing books and other materials for library fundraising. The second reason is to provide water for the fire sprinkler system in case of fire.

For answers to any other questions you may have, or to be on the mailing list for updates. Give SJ Library a call and don’t forget to vote YES for the Library!

Sincerely,

Kerwin and Margaret Johnson
