Last fall a clear majority of the voters (56%) favored integrating the hospital district’s Emergency Medical Services with the Fire District’s medical services. The levy needed 60% to pass, however. If we still support consolidation and the elimination of duplicative services, then we must vote “No” on the proposed EMS levy. The chance to reconsider sensible delivery of emergency services will be coming up later this year. But for now, a “No” vote is crucial if we favor moving to a single service provider.
