Friday Harbor basketball teams conclude season with strong effort at District

The Friday Harbor High School boys and girls basketball teams wrapped up their seasons Feb. 6–19 with some competitive performances and postseason appearances in the district playoff tournament.
Boys Basketball
The Friday Harbor boys finished 7-17 overall and 7-5 in the 1B/2B Northwest standings, placing fourth and earning a district playoff berth. The Wolverines closed the season with a mix of wins and close losses. They opened with a 51-41 victory over Coupeville on Feb. 6 and followed it with a 44-42 win against the same team in the first round of the district playoffs on Feb. 12. Friday Harbor then dropped a tight game at Auburn Adventist, 49-47, on Feb. 15. The Wolverines bounced back with a dominating 66-35 win over La Conner on Feb. 17 before falling at Orcas Island, 44-39, on Feb. 19 to end their playoff run.
Girls Basketball
The Friday Harbor girls finished 8-16 overall and 4-9 in district play, placing fifth in the 1B/2B Northwest standings. Despite a challenging season, the team showed determination in every game. The Wolverines began the stretch with a 50-42 loss to Coupeville on Feb. 6 but rebounded in the first district playoff game on Feb. 12 with a 47-40 victory over the same team. They struggled at Mount Vernon Christian on Feb. 14, falling 64-25, but dominated Auburn Adventist 60-18 on Feb. 17. Friday Harbor concluded the season with a 43-33 loss at Orcas Island on Feb. 19.
