If Hamas unconditionally releases the remaining hostages taken on Oct. 7, 2023, further actions by Israel would no longer have any humanely justifiable validity. The destruction of Palestinian lives and property would be obviously and completely disproportional to the Oct. 7 damages to Israel. International support for ending the war would be logically unanimous. Any further support for the war would be criminal.
