Hoop season? It’s here; FH to host ‘Tip-off Classic’

Friday Harbor High School is home of the Tip-Off Classic, a two-day basketball tournament featuring four boys teams and four girls teams competing for the Classic crown.
Competition gets under way at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5, in Turnbull Gym. The Friday Harbor girls basketball team plays at 5:30 p.m.; tip-off for the boys team is 7:15 p.m.
Winners of Friday’s games will meet in the championship game Saturday, while the losers square off earlier in the day in the consolation bracket.
In addition to Friday Harbor, teams competing in the first-ever Classic are: South Whidbey, Salem Academy (Ore.), Shorewood Christian and Overlake.
