Friday Harbor artist Annie Howell-Adams is set to do it all over again.

After viewing the Heritage Mural at San Juan Island’s Peace Island Medical Center, created and installed by Howell-Adams, officials of PeaceHealth invited her to view their hospital in Bellingham, and asked if she would consider creating a similar mural at St. Joseph’s.

In a recent sojourn to Bellingham, where Howell-Adams met with hospital officials, local historians, doctors and the hospital art committee, she learned that her proposal for the mural had been selected.

Many of the images Howell-Adams will use to design the project will be provided by Whatcom Museum Archives. The new 70-foot mural will be painted in Friday Harbor, on aluminum panels, and then installed at the hospital in the fall of 2014.
