Poetry reading by Gano, music and more

Pacific Northwest award-winning poet Matt Gano will be in the spotlight in a free poetry reading at Brickworks, Wednesday, Nov. 16.
Local musicians Nickie Daviw and Forrest Marowitz will also perform at the event, which begins at 5:30 p.m.
Author of “Suits for the Swarm”, a poetry collection, Gano has been a featured poet at “Page Meets Stage” at New York City’s Bowery Poetry Club, lectured at Julliard and is an artist-in-residence with Seattle Arts and Lectures, Writers in Schools. He has carried the banner for Seattle at the National Poetry Slam and is a Seattle Grand-Slam champion.
The poetry reading is sponsored by Spring Street International School, where Gano will teach poetry classes this week as part of the Skagit River Poetry Foundation’s “Poets in the Schools” program.
