Online primary election info made easier

Published 12:58 pm Sunday, August 5, 2012

If you’re looking for some last minute information about the issues or candidates on your primary election ballot, the San Juan County Elections department has you in mind.

You can access that information online at the Elections department homepage. Primary ballots must dropped off at an “drop-off box” by 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, or postmarked by Aug.7, to be included in the primary tally.

According to the auditor’s office, some votes have had trouble using the online Voters’ Guide developed by the Washington Secretary of State’s office. So, the local elections department has created a “pdf” version of that guide and made it available on the Elections website.

The guide contains detailed information about all candidates in state and federal races, as well as information regarding local Proposition 1, the public safety and sales tax measure.

Access the guide at, www.sanjuanco.com/elections; find the link below the “San Juan County Elections” banner.
