The Whale Museum turns 39 | Photos

Friday Harbor’s iconic Whale Museum opened its doors to the public 39 years ago on July 8. To celebrate, Jenny Atkinson, executive director, museum staff and volunteers were on hand serving up burgers and the works, with cupcakes for dessert. The event took place from noon-3 p.m. in the American Legion parking lot, which is located to the north of the museum. The legion also generously opened up their downstairs patio for attendees.
