Give a gift that supports the local library this holiday season.

Friends of the Library will host their annual holiday book and gift sale from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 1 at the San Juan Island Library on Guard Street. Items for sale include books, jewelry, CDs, DVDs and books on tape, and prices start as low as 50 cents. There will also be a silent auction.

All proceeds fund library programming, according to Nancy Sheplor, Friends of the Library Board member.

“Anyone who uses the library and wishes to assist … programs, such as after-school programs, [the] summer reading program [and] adult programming would feel good about supporting this holiday library sale,” she said.
